Seemingly overnight, the “In My Feelings” challenge, a dance video that comedian Shiggy posted on Instagram, turned into a worldwide phenomenon. Even faster, though, is how quickly this challenge changed the lives of some challengers. The internet craze has caused some attempting it pretty serious injuries, including a girl from Iowa who now has to re-learn how to walk because of bleeding in her brain.

When the comedian posted the simple choreography to Drake’s song “In My Feelings” and challenged others to do the same, there was no way he could’ve known how big it was about to become. Since the viral video was first posted, over 1,000,000 people have posted their own takes on Instagram, not all of which have gone according to plan, not by a long shot.

A 22-year-old from Boynton Beach, Florida, Jaylen Norwood, went viral earlier this week after he slipped on some oil and was hit by an oncoming car while attempting the dance outside his home. He had originally planned to jump onto the hood of the moving vehicle and continue his choreography, but the oil that caused him to slip may have actually been a blessing in disguise.

Since posting the video, late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel reached out to interview Jaylen. The interview is set to air on Monday, August 6 alongside an appearance from Kim Kardashian. “This is honestly the greatest thing. This is the goal. Everybody should be able to experience this at least once,” Norwood told reporters.

Thankfully, Jaylen walked away with only a few scrapes, a sore shoulder, and 15 minutes of fame. But it’s 2018, and by this point, you know it can’t be long before any viral internet phenomenon goes to shit. Anna Worden, 18, of Bettendorf, Iowa should definitely be a sign to everyone to stop doing the “KiKi”.

The teen was driving with friends when she thought it would be a great idea to attempt the simple steps alongside her moving car. The last thing she remembers was opening the door, the next thing she knew she was being airlifted to the ICU.

When stepping out of the vehicle, Anna slipped and hit her head on the pavement, hard. She fractured her skull, had blood clots in her ears, and was even bleeding in her brain. Now, thanks to the viral internet challenge, she’ll have to reteach herself how to walk and undergo months of extensive physical therapy. Maybe Drake could help pitch in for her medical bills, although that doesn’t seem likely.
